  • Lecture Personal Finance Unit: Research your professions & likely starting salary.
  • With your partner Start your Google Doc I&E form by listing your expenditures and a starting salary 5 years from now. Here is a sample form
  • Individually do Bankrupt at 23 & Salaries by major.
  • Interview your parents and complete page 2 (only) of the personal economics (household finances) assignment, interactively read page 3 (but don't do anything with it yet).
  • Note: You and your partner should keep track of your finances (#6). Remember, each couple must keep a two week budget in a journal on a google doc so you can both add to it). The budget will be collected on 4/20. The journal should have the following:
       a. A statement of your net worth
       b. List of how much you earned and spent over the 2 weeks (I&E)
       c. An evaluation of how you will pay for your needs over the course of the next year (page 4)
       d. Researched, planned & created a budget and long term plan to save 4 your goals
       e. Stated a plan on what credit card you plan to open and why that particular card is useful.

  • With you partner find and print out a specific credit card deal and write on paragraph on why it is the best choice for you. Make sure to consider APR, Annual Fees, late fees, other fees, and benefits of the card

  • Share out on credit cards - put your choice on page 4 of your personal economics (household finances) assignment.
  • 1. Do your Post-College Budget on your Google Doc. A. Find an actual place to live & transportation ( Nerdwallet is a good site for costs )
  • Start Student Credit Packet
  • Dowload one copy of the Resume Check List. You will turn it in with your resume when it is finished.
  • If you haven't yet, upload your credit card choice and paragraph
  • For Wednesday: Students with last name A-M interactively read Asian Hate last names N-Z read Black Racism.
  • For Friday: Interview your parents and do page 4 of your personal economics (household finances).

  • Enroll in the DaveyEcon2021. Download this handout and follow directions and invest in 3-5 stocks/ETF/bonds before next Tuesday's class. Our password is beatLG
  • Here is the order you should work on in class today:
    1. Download the forms
    2. Sign up on the stock site. Label your Team after your last names
    3. Set aside your emergency funds (3 months for your salaries)
    4. Finish your post-college budget.
    5. Research stocks (you must buy 1 bond ETF and 2-4 stocks before next Tuesday
    6. Start Work on your resume
  • Start working on updating Resume.
  • Print out and bring to class the film guide for the Retirement Gamble
  • Purchase with your partner, 3-5 stocks, ETFs, or Mutual Funds
  • Don't forget to continue tracking your 2 week budget. It is due 4/16 as is your entire personal economics (household finances). assignment and I&E.
