CRs should create their state placards and have read their packets interactively. Candidates be ready to visit two states. Media: Remmber to coordinate - FOX and MSNBC rotate a short video election segment and a print production - make copies for the CRs

  • Print out and interactively read the start of the Bush-Gore Debate Sheet. Do not do the questions but bring it to class.
  • Extra Credit Films for this unit (only one per unit): Bob Roberts, Wag the Dog, Dave, The Candidate, Primary Colors, or The War Room The format is the same as in MAP 10. It can be found here.
    Work on simulation: VPs prepare for the debate. Know your stuff. There will be an opening statement (1 minute) and ten questions (1 minute response with 30 second rebuttal)

  • Presidential Simulation Day #3: VP Debate(Town Hall Format)
  • Time Permitting - Continue Lecture: The Executive Branch & the Presidency
  • ALL:
  • Print out and interactively read and be prepared to debate. Is the Presidency too Powerful?: (first two pages only) Write a paragraph introduction to the debate and at least 5 bullet points on the size you choose.
  • Work on Simulation: Presidents prepare for the debate. Know your stuff. There will be an opening statement (1 minute) around 12 questions (1 minute response with 30 second rebuttal) Media come prepared to run the debate, and film it. VPs you will have time at the end of class to campaign in two states of your choice and there will be time for state ADs only (no national ads).
