  • The requirements for the annotated bibliography: Each citation should be followed by a brief (usually about 150 words) descriptive and evaluative paragraph, the annotation. The purpose of the annotation is to inform the reader if the source is primary, secondary or tertiary, its relevance (why did you select it and how does it fit well into the paper), and why it is a quality source or potentially biased. It should not use personal pronouns.
