The French Revolution

This unit focuses on the uprising of the French people to overthrow an absolute monarch and bring in democracy. Yet the process was fraught with terror, bloodshed, and setbacks which eventually ushered in an age of conservatism.

19th Century Europe

This unit will cover the restoration of peace and order following the French Revolution. You'll discuss the great political Isms of the 19th century which impacted thinking and also imperialism and the Industrial Revolution.

The Great War

This unit focus on the origins and impact of the Great War, the most destructive conflict in European History up to that time. Through videos, trials an simulation you will get a taste of what the soldiers went through.

Between The Wars

This unit will cover the turmoil that happened after World War 1. You'll learn about the reactions people had to the end of the war, and see how those same reactions led to the Second World War.

World War 2

This unit will discuss the failures of democracy throughout Western Euorpe and the rise of the Third Reich.r. You'll learn how Hitler nearly conquered Europe and Japan Asia before the Allies swept to victory.

Cold War and Decolonization

In this unit, you'll focus on the bipolar world that developed after WW2, particularly the tensions between the United States and the Soviet Union.

The Modern World

In this final unit of your sophomore year, you'll learn about how the modern world works. You'll be introduced the world impacted by decolonialization and the rise of modern China.
